Revamp Your House For The New Year

Once the champagne flutes have been put away and the gold confetti has settled – it’s “go” time! The new year marks a time to switch out the items in your household that no longer serve you or are long overdue for a makeover. Not only is it nice to have a good ole annual purge, but it has mental health benefits as well.

There’s long been a correlation between health and home. It’s why so many turn to clean their closets to reduce anxiety or add a pop of color to boost moods. At our gift shop, we have products from your basic toiletries to home accents that support the look and feel you’re trying to achieve in 2021.

Plastic Toothbrush

Make an easy switch, choose toothbrushes made out of bamboo instead of plastic to help reduce the amount of plastic waste produced each year.

In the US alone, an average of 1 billion toothbrushes is tossed into our landfills. But how do you come to a happy medium for your pearly whites and the planet? Fortunately, you don’t have to sacrifice either when purchasing a toothbrush. Gift stores such as our own have sustainable and biodegradable options available made of bamboo.

Dirty Sponges

Ring in the new year by ditching your old sponge. Swedish dishcloths are a sustainable alternative to regular household sponges.

Chances are your sponge is currently sitting as a bacteria hotbed. According to a study conducted at the University of Furtwangen in Germany, 362 different species of bacteria were found on a sponge. It should then be a no-brainer to make the swap to our eco-friendly Swedish dishcloths for a true clean to your kitchen. Lasting anywhere from nine to twelve months this reusable cloth not only trumps your sponge but can replace up to 17 rolls of paper towels. Also, this product can be tossed into the machine for a thorough wash, lasting you well into 2022!

Half Burned Candles

In the new year, embrace your homebody with this long-lasting candle that’s mindfully packaged.

Freshen up your space with a whole new scent! Studies have suggested that candles made with petroleum-based wax can affect those who already suffer from lung and cardiac conditions. Instead, place sustainable ingredients in your home, such as soy and phthalate-free P.F. Candles, with ranging scents from smoky cinnamon to an outdoorsy cedarwood and citrus. Embrace your homebody with this long-lasting candle that’s mindfully packaged in an amber jar, signature kraft label, and a brass lid.

Outdated Artwork

As we spend more time at home in 2021, consider sprucing up your place with calming and inspirational home decor.

Get inspired with new artwork and mantras! Our wooden signs spruce up the room, whether you’ve chosen a word of the year such as “ relax” to remind yourself of self-care or if you simply need a splash of tropic color. Pro tip: look for greens and blues as they tend to slightly lower blood pressure and induce a sense of calm.

Kids’ Board Games

This year, part ways with board games that no longer do the trick and add a few new ones to your cart.

Are your kids’ games missing a few pieces? Part ways with board games that no longer do the trick and add a few new ones to your cart. Consider purchasing our Ocean Bingo that takes a creative spin on classic bingo, featuring brilliant color photos and informative facts on the back of each calling card set about sharks, sponges, jellyfish, and more!
